I give my apologies for not making it to this meeting, today marks a white parch in history, great revolutions of our time started with this simple step, of coming together and stamping the unity

I want to thank the organizers, the interim committee and all members who took this day off to converge in Masinga for this great forum. And I want to take this opportunity to ask you, all you who are in that room, to take this seriously and walk the talk to fruition. Do not lose the zeal, lets make the progress together, lets be involved in every milestone this movement takes, every path it paves, lets be there, as from today.
Have you ever wondered why, a lot of times, we just can’t seem to make progress in life despite the fact that we know so much about what it takes to succeed? There just seems to be a gap between what we know and what we actually do. I call this The Gap Between Knowledge and Action.
Our main problem is this gap, and how we going to fill it. The Gap Between Knowledge and Action.

Today, we converge for the youth forum, I would suggest its time we talk about what we can actually do , and not what we actually know. We each know lots of substantial ideas, and we all got dreams about how we can change our society given the opportunity, but how can we turn this ideas and dream into reality? How can we jump from knowledge to action?

The things we know this morning (Knowlege)

That the CSRs have failed us
That corporates have done less than whats expected of them in our society
Thats most leaders have failed in executing their duties, and using their given powers
That we dont know how the CDF kitty is allocated
That we as youth, can be a force to reckon

We know all this, yah, but what can we do abouit it, The Gap Between Knowledge and Action.
But why havent we done nothing all this while? Why is it that we are coming out now and not years before, I might presume its because we lacked the intesity, the objectivity and the zeal not to relent

Or maybe we have always lacked clarity of what actually we want, what action to take, clarity of our objectives

Or rather I should say, it is a lack of clarity that keeps us stuck in a certain pattern. By lack of clarity I mean three basic things:

– Your fears
– Feeling Powerless
– Lack of Focus

Fear
Lets conquer fears of failure, better we do it today and fail tomorrow than having done nothing. Everytime I want to quit on something, I always remind myself that I am where I wanted to be when I started, and going back aint an option, lets not fear the outcome, tomorrow will arrange ourselves (Direct translation there, tutajipanga)

Feeling powerless

The second obstacle is Powerlessness. Powerlessness occurs when you are living in a state of low power.I know we have always felt we cant be heard, that we marginalised, that the leaders wont listen, that nobody will turn on his grave because we met for a forum, let me tell brothers and sisters, we as the youth we hold the keys for the powers that maybe, we have the power and energy to literally shout at the top of our dear lungs and somebody will surely hear our cry of destitute, we are marginalised,,yah, but that gives us the advantage of hitting when unexpected, 3weeks ago, nobody thought of the unity we are experiencing today, now they arer wondering what we might turn to, tell them, this is the beginning of the REVOLUTION, tell them agaiin, THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE REVOLUTION

Lack of Focus

Acting consistently and towards the right purpose is important. Lets Work out OUR vision. Work out our purpose. Be clear on what we want from this movement. Lets majorly focus on how we can actively and effectively be involved in our community leadership

Talking about involvement in leadership and development, we should hold more meetings in every ward, and influence a youth representative in every WDF, through our representatives in this committess, we shall have eyes on every ward’s development projects, for benefit of overseeing how funds are used, thats way, tukaiisa ukunwa kivelenge, nimuungwatya?

LETS BE DIFFERENT
Not being afraid to challenge the norm.- Being willing to take a chance.- Asking why.- Making OUR own track, not just following the well trodden path.- Charting our own course and destiny.-Lets be a force to reckon in MASINGA, mayitya kula makesilaa kwitu, nimuungwatya?

Lets close the Gap Between Knowledge and Action.Time for knowledge is always, time for action is always forever, TIME FOR ACTION IS NOW, lets not relent on our course

MY FINAL WORDS
If I can leave you with one piece of advice it would be this:

Society celebrates mediocrity so much that it does not take much to set yourself above the rest. Doing that one thing regularly will put us away above the rest, lets believe in this course

In closing I’d like to say to those of you that are skeptics out there, those of you that are saying “oh, he is just drunk with the omnipotence of youth. He’ll get over it, and then he’ll be just like everyone else.”

My words to you are:

“I ain’t going out like that. I know that I have an abundance of potential within me and I will bring it out to fruition. Why?”

“Because…I’M DIFFERENT!”

ITS THE DIFFERENCE THAT WILL SET US APART

@MwanaaReginah, FOR THE YOUTH FORUM HELD AT MASINGA TOWN IN 23/04/2016
